Please join us as Melody Zahn Russell discusses the inspiration and story behind her new book "Noni And Me: Caregiving, Memory Loss, Love".
Many may know Melody as “Mrs. Russell” from her very popular Potato print greeting cards which we have been selling in the bookstore since 1986
When Covid arrived she stopped teaching Art and turned to writing. This mini- memoir is her story of the time she shared with her mother during “Noni’s” last three years.
Do you have a loved one with memory loss?
Are you wondering about becoming a caregiver?
Melody wrote this for others who are navigating the senior chapter of life and need to make choices concerning loss of a mate, downsizing a home, losing a driver’s license, experiencing
confusion in one’s mind. Not easy, but true and essential and so hard to do alone.
She quotes Walt Whitman, “The gift is to the Giver, and comes back most to him” from Song of the Rolling Earth.
As she says “My time with my mother and the writing of this little book have both been very healing.”
