The writer and co-producer for a number of Ken Burns’ documentaries, Dayton’s latest work follows the history of the American Buffalo from prehistoric times to today. Drawing insight into the history of the indigenous peoples of the Americas and their relationship to the Buffalo, Dayton traces the impact of the buffalo through all its instantiations from cultural to economic. “Blood Memory” is the story of North America told through the history of its most identifiable and emblematic mammal.
