IMPORTANT NOTICE

It was discovered earlier this year that our Credit Card processing company Worldpay, Inc. did not fully process over 200 credit card transactions at our Milford/Nashua location. The transactions appeared to go through at the time of purchase and at the close of business every day. After that, the transactions froze, customers were not billed on their statements and we were not notified.

Several customers brought this to our attention and we initiated an investigation at Worldpay. Worldpay eventually produced a report of all the transactions that were authorized but never finally processed. Those charges were pushed through in mid-June. If you made a credit card purchase at our Milford location or in Nashua in late November of early December of 2019 the transaction may not have been processed. If you are unexpectedly seeing a charge from us on your current statement it may be one of those not previously fully processed. You would not have been billed for it before. Please check your records to confirm and let us know if you have any questions.

Unfortunately, we do not retain customer contact information. We do not require a phone number for charge/debit purchases and the machines purposefully do not retain any contact info for your protection. We would have preferred to contact anyone affected to let them know, but there is no way to do so.

We at The Toadstool Bookshops sincerely regret any headaches or inconvenience this may cause. We have the original transaction information available from Worldpay and will be happy to provide it to anyone disputing a transaction. We also have a statement from them saying that this was an issue on their part and not the fault of The Toadstool Bookshops.(See below).

The credit card processor is confident that they are correct. OF COURSE if anyone has a question please call us at 603-673-1734 or email manager@mtoad.com and we will immediately issue a refund.

Worldpay is committed to servicing all of our customers as quickly and effectively as possible. The Nashua location ran into terminal settlement/equipment issues. This was not due to any negligence or delay by Toadstool Bookshop. Since February 2020 the issue has been resolved but certain transactions were not processed. We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
