Nashua ~ E.C. Ambrose DRAKEMASTER book launch!

The Toadstool Bookshop is pleased to be hosting Elaine Isaak, writing as E.C. Ambrose, with her new book DRAKEMASTER at our Nashua location on Thursday May 19th at 6:30pm. Join us for a reading and signing to celebrate DRAKEMASTER, with some astronomical devices, and more!

What connects an ancient map carved in a cane, a disgraced descendant of Chinggis Khan, and a secret Chinese society?

1257 AD, Kaifeng, China: Dailus, a European bronzecaster taken as a slave by the Mongols, builds mighty siege cannons for the Khan, but discovers there are even more frightening weapons. His fate intersects that of the Mongolian scout who enslaved him desperate to remove the name of 'traitor', the last warrior monk of a ruined temple, a Chinese astronomer's daughter forced to suppress her mind to her beauty, and a dancer whose grace hides deadly skills: allies and opponents in a race across medieval China to locate a clockwork doomsday device. As cities fall and empires are threatened, this legendary device could turn the tide of battle, or burn the world to ash with the power of the stars.

An epic historical fantasy novel from the author of "The King of Next Week", The Dark Apostle and Bone Guard series.

E. C. Ambrose writes knowledge inspired adventure fiction including The King of Next Week, also from Guardbridge Books; The Dark Apostle series about medieval surgery (DAW), and the Bone Guard archaeological thrillers as E. Chris Ambrose. In the process of researching her books, Elaine learned how to hunt with a falcon, clear a building of possible assailants, and pull traction on a broken limb. Her quest for real-world detail has taken her from the steppes of Mongolia to the deserts of southern California. Elaine's short stories have appeared in Fireside, Warrior Women, and Fantasy for the Throne, among many others, and she has edited several volumes of New Hampshire Pulp Fiction. A graduate of the Odyssey Writing Workshop, Elaine has returned there to teach, as well as at conventions and writer's groups across the country. She has judged writing competitions from New Hampshire Literary Idol to the World Fantasy Award.
