Join us in welcoming THREE talented, wonderful, amazing local author/illustrators of books for young children. The ladies will read from, talk about, and later sign their delightful picture books for kids. We'll meet in the cafe, enjoy a treat or two, and have a colorful day in the store. Our visiting artists are:
GINA PERRY - Once upon a time, I played with little metal cars in my rock-filled driveway. I listened to old-time mystery radio theater in my room and built yarn canopies between trees. I could never serve the volleyball in gym class but I could draw dragons that leapt off the page.
After 13 years of wearing plaid uniforms I went to art school. I graduated from Syracuse University, worked as a compositor in animation, and as an art director creating products for the scrap-booking market. My children inspire me every single day to be creative and do my best.
Today I write and illustrate books from my New Hampshire home. I still like yarn, and table tennis is my (only) game.
JENNIFER MORRIS - is the author and illustrator of "May I Please Have a Cookie?", "Please Write Back!" (combined sales over 1 million copies) and "The Lemonade Hurricane" as well as other children's books. She also illustrates children's magazines, greeting cards, party ware, and educational materials and is the recipient of the Don Freeman Memorial Grant awarded by the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Jennifer lives in rural Massachusetts with her husband and two children.
JANNIE HO - Cluck cluck! Hello! My name is Jannie Ho (pronounced Jane-nee) and I'm an illustrator specializing in the children's market, with my work appearing in both trade and educational books, magazines, toys, crafts and digital media. I'm currently based out of Boston, MA. I'm also known as Chicken Girl.
I received my BFA in illustration at Parsons The New School of Design in New York. After graduating, I worked as an in-house graphic designer at Nickelodeon, Scholastic, and an art director at TIME Magazine for Kids. I left to pursue illustrating full time and haven't stopped drawing since.
