At 2pm we will be joined by Bill Ranauro with this Memoir "West of Boston"
Before Bill Ranauro came to New Hampshire to pursue a career as a teacher and coach, he grew up in the suburbs west of Boston in the 1960s and 70s. Much of his youth was spent developing an intense passion for sports, especially baseball and the Boston Red Sox. After graduating high school, Bill attended Framingham State College, where he pursued his goal of playing college athletics. Following graduation in 1978, Bill entered the teaching profession, where he taught history and continued his love affair with athletics as a coach of high school sports. Bill retired from teaching in 2016 after thirty-seven years, the last thirty-one at Fall Mountain Regional High School in Langdon, New Hampshire.
Help us welcome Bill to the Toadstool where he will be discussing and signing his memoir West of Boston: Growing Up Red Sox in a Yankee Household.
At 4pm we will be joined by Steve Babineau with this photography book "The Hometown Team"
Photographer Steve Babineau has spent the last 45 years accumulating hundreds of thousands of photographs of the Boston Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox, as well as special event and concert images from the Boston Garden and TD Garden. He also serves as campus sports photographer for UMASS Lowell and Boston University. His decades of work and involvement as an employee, contractor, and fan have paid off in diamonds. Since 2007, “Barbs” has earned championship rings with all five mentioned organizations he works for. No other photographer in North America has accomplished this. The league singled out his work photographing the NHL in 2007 when they acquired his collection of 350,000 images. His images have appeared in countless magazines, yearbooks, sports cards and promotional items thru the years.
