Keene- Eric Stanway discussing his book, "Weird Tales of Keene"

Saturday, August 4, 2018 - 2:00pm

Visit the darker side of Keene… Since the settlement in 1733, many strange events have transpired in the seemingly quiet City of Keene. Join us as we explore a few of the more bizarre anecdotes from its history, including the persecuted Tory who hid in a cave; the man who was found dead by chloroform in the middle of a busy street; a tragedy at a bowling alley that ended in violence and suicide; and a young man who discovered he could tame lions at his whim. All this lies within, along with many more tales that make up the tapestry of this ancient city.
