Claudia "Ladybird" Johnson had always had a difficult life. With her 30th birthday fast approaching, she moves to the city in a desperate attempt to turn it all around, but she soon realizes that New York City is not the band-aid she thought it would be. Enter Victor Raines, a kindred spirit 30 years her senior. A professor of literature at Columbia, his confidence draws Claudia in, despite her initial reluctance. As their relationship develops, Claudia begins to discover a clearer sense of self than she ever thought possible. However, even as Claudia blossoms, Victor is deteriorating and every day he’s less like the man she fell in love with. Together they struggle to make each moment count, but how long can she keep the fog from closing in?
Alison holds a BFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, as well as an MA in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. She is currently enrolled at Emerson College. Her fiction, poetry, and non-fiction have been published widely online and in print. In her spare time, Alison enjoys aimlessly browsing through bookstores, expanding her vinyl collection, and wearing out her welcome in coffee shops. She's also a fan of musical theater, painting pottery, learning the ukulele, and traveling. A formerly nomadic individual who has lived in various parts of Florida and all over New England, Alison has now settled in Manchester, New Hampshire with her partner and his son.
