We’re celebrating Independent Bookstore Day by asking you to join us in extending a very grateful thank you to the bookselling staff in our stores. 2020 was a year of challenges beginning in March when we had to close our doors to visitors and reduce our staff substantially. The handful that remained worked long and hard filling website orders to ship or ready for curbside pickup. The phones rang constantly with requests for books. We were busy and thankful for this new kind of bookselling and our staff excelled. When in mid –June we were able to open our doors again those staff members who had been furloughed came back with enthusiasm and have accepted and endured the trials of mask wearing, cleaning, and hand sanitizing that have kept everyone healthy. Through it all they have greeted everyone cheerfully, helped find and recommend books, and kept the stores buzzing.
Without them there would be no independent bookstores in Keene, Peterborough, or Nashua. Please stop in on April 24th and join us in thanking every one of them.
And thank you! – Holly and Willard Williams and family co-owners
