Former Amherst resident Jim Beard visits to speak about and sign copies of his new book WHITE MOCS ON THE RED ROAD: Walking Spirit in a Native Way.

Never in a million years would Jim have said this is his chosen path. Family, a business, Rotary meetings - he was "a three piece suit" - that was his life. But something vital was missing from his American dream. Traveling and living throughout the Great Lakes region allowed him to seek out and explore the teachings of the Ojibwe people and find peace in their traditions. He now lives seasonally in the Monadnock State Park region as an attendent and storyteller, dedicated to telling anyone who is interested about his Native brothers.
