On Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., J.L. Vallee will talk about and autograph her book, Severed Soul: One Woman’s Journey through Post Traumatic Stress, in which Amy Howard begins to fall apart under the combined weight of the death of a loved one, emotional abuse, and a car accident. Severed Soul will lead you through the feelings of fear and personal anguish that a person with PTSD lives with, and bring you to a place of hope by offering PTSD sufferers a lifeline.

J.L. Vallee lives in central New England and is currently enrolled in the legal studies program at Mount Wachusett Community College. She is an advocate for battered women and veterans.

Howard and other bird-loving contributors to Tale Feathers: A Celebration of Birds, Birders and Bird Watching for an informative and inspiring discussion about birds and bird watching. Jacquelyn is trained in bird identification and bird-banding techniques through the Institute for Bird Populations, Point Reyes Station, California. She has worked as an avian field biologist from Maine to Florida, with an emphasis on threatened and endangered shorebirds. Additionally, she has birded all over the United States and Europe, New Zealand, Canada, and the Caribbean.

James Sturm is one of comics' most energetic, entertaining, and active artists and educators working today. He is currently the Director of The Center for Cartoon Studies, a two-year cartooning school located in White River Junction, Vermont. He is the award-winning cartoonist of the books Golem's Mighty Swing, James Sturm's America, Satchel Paige: Striking Out Jim Crow, and Adventures in Cartooning.

On Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., K.G. Schalhoub will talk about and autograph his book, a lively and intriguing science fiction story called The First, which is set in the 2030s. John Carlisle was only eleven years old and didn’t know much about the current technology of the scientific world. What he did know was what made his life fun and exciting. His world was one of friends and multitasking.
What he did not know or could not know was that the Belmont Institute in New Mexico had different plans for him. Neural implants and the consequences of future technology were in his future. He was about to become part of an adventure that only a dreamer would believe existed.

On Sunday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. Cheryl Wilfong will be signing and discussing her new book, The Meditative Gardener: Cultivating Mindfulness of Body, Feeling, and Mind. In this wise, down-to-earth book, master gardener and mindfulness meditation teacher Wilfong lovingly offers us a rich bouquet of the Buddha's teachings. Her gentle, friendly, and humorous tone creates a nurturing environment in which to practice mindfulness in our very own gardens.

Longtime Vermont resident David Fagelson will sign and talk about his first novel, Y. Bindel?, a thrilling story in which OPEC is pressuring the world to get rid of Israel.
